Which PDF metadata can be stored?
A PDF can carry a title, author, subject, keywords, creator application, producer, creation date and modification date. It can also have a separate XMP metadata stream with overlapping or additional information.
What the current cleaner targets

- Supported title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and date values.
- XMP catalog metadata
- The supported catalog metadata stream is removed from the generated copy.
- Verification
- The cleaner copy is opened and checked again before download.
- Original file
- Your original is never overwritten.
Why some PDFs are blocked
Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are not supported. ImageHush also blocks digitally signed PDFs because rewriting one would invalidate its signature. Damaged or unusual files may fail safely instead of producing a questionable copy.
Metadata removal is not PDF redaction
This tool does not remove visible text, hidden layers, attachments, scripts, links or every piece of application-specific data. It is not a malware scanner or a substitute for a formal redaction workflow.
Check the generated PDF
Open the new copy in the viewer you normally use. Confirm page count, layout, links, forms and other important behavior. Keep the original when signatures, provenance or document history matter.
