Use ImageHush on the device with the photo

ImageHush is a browser tool rather than an installed app. Open the image tool in a current browser, choose the photo through the device file picker, review the supported metadata and download a separate cleaner copy. The controls are the same across platforms; only the file picker and download location differ.

What changes by device

iPhone and iPad
Choose a photo from the iOS file or photo picker, then save the downloaded cleaner copy.
Android
Choose the final image through the browser picker and find the result in the browser download location.
Windows
Select the file from Explorer through the browser dialog and compare the downloaded copy with the original.
Mac
Select the final file from Finder or the available photo picker and retain the original in its library.

1. Choose the exact photo you will share

An edited, downloaded or messaged copy may have different metadata from the original. Start with the final file whenever possible. ImageHush accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF and TIFF images.

2. Review what the scan finds

The browser checks supported EXIF, GPS, camera, date, software, XMP, IPTC, comment and C2PA structures. A “not detected” result means the scanner did not find that supported group. It is not a forensic guarantee.

3. Make a cleaner copy

Normally oriented JPG files can be cleaned without recompressing their image data. GIF cleanup preserves animation. Other formats may need a fresh export, which can change compression, color handling or file size.

4. Download and inspect the result

ImageHush scans the newly created copy before enabling the download. Open the result and compare it with the original, particularly when color, transparency, animation or exact dimensions matter.

Should you delete the original?

No. Location, dates and camera information can be useful in a private archive. Keep the original somewhere safe and use the cleaner copy for public sharing.

What metadata removal does not cover

The picture itself can reveal a place or identity. Metadata cleanup cannot hide visible signs, faces or landmarks, remove invisible pixel watermarks, erase a file already published or alter another service’s records.
